Colonials can clinch league title with win over Trojans

On Tuesday January 26,2010 the Plymouth Whitemarsh Colonials(9-0 league, 15-0 overall) will host the Wissahickon Trojans in a Suburban One American conference Boys Basketball showdown. This game probably means a little bit more for the Colonials than their excited 54-42 win over Roman Catholic on Sunday January 24,2010. A win the Plymouth Whitemarsh would mean the Colonials would capture the Suburan One American conference title since PW would have 4 more league wins than their 2nd place opponent,Wissahickon(now6-2 in league,12-3). Wissahickon beat also Suburban One American 2nd place rival Norristown(6-2,11-4), and the Colonials had the other league victory against the Eagles. This would be the Colonials' 7th straight league title.
During the 2008-2009 Boys Basketball season, the Colonials soared all the way to the state semi-finals, and hope to also add the District 1 and State title.

Colonials robbed of boys soccer playoff berth

The Plymouth Whitemarsh Colonials Boys soccer squad finished 8-4-2 in the Suburbaon One American Conference(third place), 10-5-2 overall. Before 2009, the Colonials made the playoffs just once in school history. When the seeding meeting happened, PW was not given a playoff berth. First off, the Colonials had 26 points in their conference in the regular season, tying Tennent for most points for a third place team in the league. However, the strength of schedule could have gotten to the decision of the playoff teams; aside from PW, only Cheltenham and Wissahickon had above .500 and better records than the Colonials. Also, C.B. West had 6 wins and even 6 losses, and still earned a playoff berth. If the Colonials' playoff chances were ruined, go back to Monday October 19,2009- PW Senior Night against Cheltenham. During senior night against Cheltenham, Kaz Fazliu scored a goal of the corner with 25 minutes left in the 2nd half for a PW 1-0 lead, but he was called off-sides and the goal was erased(video evidence by Colonial Instructional Television(PW'S tv network) showed that Fazliu was probably not off-sides). Also, Fazliu was tripped up in the penalty box twice during the game, and the referees did not hand him penalty kicks, but made PW cough the ball to Cheltenham. Even the refs were calling PW out of bounds during the game and gave Cheltenham the ball, which could have lead to the game-winning goal by Cheltenham's Doug Roman. Since the refs were unfair, the game should have been won,1-0, by PW, or a 1-1 tie into overtime. Video evidence could change the playoffs, but the refs might have cost the Colonials a playoff berth. CITV at PW has the video of that game, and could probably be sent to those who need to review the blown calls.
