National Conference Millennium Administrators Highlighted Players

James Ashford IV, Junior, Bensalem High School
Note from the coach:

“James is an awesome kid, first and foremost,” coach Ron Morris said. “He’s a good student in the building. Teachers, staff and administrators all love him. He’s got a good personality, he’s an easygoing kid, and he’s got a tremendous work ethic. The kid doesn’t ever stop working, and you can see it when he plays on the court. He’s a warrior. He gets banged up and you wouldn’t even know it – he plays through it. He makes some difficult shots throughout the game – he’s our leading scorer, and naturally, he’s very important to the team, but he’s not cocky. He’s very humble, and he continues to work hard even though he’s having success.”

About James:

Best memory playing basketball: Winning the SOL National title

Part of the game I enjoy most: My offensive game and seeing our team succeed.

My role model is: Russell Westbrook

Favorite TV show: 911 & Chicago Fire

Four people (dead or alive) I’d invite to a dinner party:  Russell Westbrook, Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, Kyrie Irving

Aaron Sanders, Sophomore, Bensalem High School

Note from the coach:

“Aaron is another great kid,” coach Ron Morris said. “He has a tremendous work ethic. Every Sunday he’s begging me to get into the gym even though we can’t get in on Sundays. The thing I like about Aaron is he’s grown a lot as a person from last year at this time to now, and he’s continuing to flourish as a person.
“Basketball-wise, he has a very high basketball IQ, which is nice because he’s like another coach on the floor, and he’s just continuing to get better as a player. He does make some mistakes, but the point guard position is very tough to play, let alone as a sophomore at the varsity level. He’s playing extremely well for us as a floor general. He’s a good shooter, he helps us get over the hump with his outside shot, and it was nice to see him have that career high against Truman. Overall, he’s a great floor general. He’s more of a vocal leader than James. James is one of those kids who leads by example where Aaron will speak up and try to rally the team.”

About Aaron:

Best memory playing basketball: Winning the SOL National title, being a floor general & cutting down my first net with my brothers.

Part of the game I enjoy most: I like playing defense, being a floor general and seeing my teammates having success.

He is always upbeat, and his positive spirit brings his teammates together. Stewie is an incredible leader, he puts the team first and is always ready to compete when his number is called. We are blessed to have a young man like Andrew Stewart in our program and he has made such a positive impact on his teammates and coaches over the last four years.”
