North Penn Duo Competing in Collegiate Track & Field

On Thursday, May 26, 2022, North Penn seniors Gavin Zanck & Jabrie Gaymon were recognized for committing to continue their track & field careers at the collegiate level.

Jabrie Gaymon – Shippensburg University (Track & Field)
Final list of colleges: Shippensburg, Kutztown, Rider
Reasons for choosing Shippensburg: “I chose Shippensburg because I felt like they could do the most for me in terms of my progress in the future. Besides the athletics, I like the school itself.”

Coach Jay Jones says: “Jabrie has been with us for four years. He’s a class act. He was a state medalist in the triple jump. He’s on our all-time list on the triple jump. He’s put about 10, close to 11 feet on his triple jump from freshman year, so he did not have an easy road - just through hard work and dedication. He’s very quiet – he’s like a silent assassin out there. He’s heading to Shippensburg, he’s an outstanding young man.”

Gavin Zanck – La Salle University (Track & Field)

Reasons for choosing La Salle: “I chose La Salle because I love the whole team, I love the coaches there. That  was a big part of what I wanted in a college.”
Coach Jay Jones says: “Gavin is an outstanding young man. He took a little different path in terms of how he got here. He had talent right away and the ability to help us right away as a freshman. He is a state champion on the 4x400 relay - outstanding. He’s all around a fine young man. He’s headed to La Salle, and I’m sure he’s going to do great things at La Salle.”
