Quakertown played a great style of hockey tonight. All the girls showed grit and determination throughout the entire match. Both teams had scoring chances in the first half; however Quakertown led with 6 corners to Palisades 2 and had 16 shots on goal to Palisades 2. The second half opened up a bit more with Quakertown scoring it's first of two goals off a corner. Olivia Jackson fired a bullet into the left corner of the cage at 19:15 on an assist from Mackenzie Hadfield. The second goal game at 10:16 on a brilliant play where Anna Thompson deftly weaved her way around several Palisades defenders, brought the ball into the circle and fired a hard shot into the far corner for the goal. Our defense is beginning to work well together and communicate more effectively. Mel Olivieri played well and distributed out of our defensive end. Maddie Haley and Sydney Fondl made some great recovery saves and Halle Frederick is a hard working freshman who is gaining valuable experience. Our forwards are connecting with our midfields nicely and generating more attacking opportunities. Julia Ely, Kayla Hlywiak, Claudia Tangradi, Jenn Jiminez and Brianna Nadal really stepped up to the plate tonight and made significant contributions.
