Souderton - 4
Lansdale Catholic - 3

Souderton was forced to play overtime for the second time this week, and for the second time they were able to come away with a win.

Souderton looked like clear favorites on their home turf for community night. After the first five minutes of the game, Souderton went up 3-0, with sophomore Avery Nogami providing a hat trick of assists. The first goal came in the second minute of play, when Nogami slipped a ball in behind the Lansdale Catholic defense for Taylor Yoder to run onto and slot home the finish. A few minutes later, Nogami provided a second assist to Hannah Alderfer, who turned and beat her defender at the top of LC's penalty area and fired a shot into the top corner. Almost immediately, Nogami slipped another ball in behind the defense for Averie Doughty, who finished to give Souderton a convincing lead early on in the match.

For the remainder of the half, Souderton continued to control possession, with a few half chances that they couldn't capitalize on to extend their lead. As the half wore on, Lansdale grew in confidence, and their efforts paid off as they scored off a hard fought solo run through Souderton's defense for an easy finish.

Lansdale Catholic seemed to find new life in the second half. A combination of Souderton's complacency and Lansdale's tenacity resulted in a convincing comeback for the visitors. With 33 minutes left to play, Lansdale found their second goal off a through ball in behind Souderton's defense for a nice 1v1 run and finish. Shortly after LC scored off a corner that swung in towards Souderton's net with the help of the wind. The cross came off the crossbar and hit off an LC attacker who was in the right place at the right time and the ball went into the back of Souderton's net.

Souderton was suddenly reeling in a game that seemed to be over in the first five minutes. Morgan Molyneaux was forced to make a number of saves in the second half to keep Souderton from going down. Slowly, Souderton found their footing again in the second half and started to create some chances. With 20 minutes left in the half Averie Doughty beat the goalie with her effort on goal, but a Lansdale Catholic defender was able to clear the ball off the line. Souderton had a chance a minute later, but was unable to finish, and the game went to overtime.

Over the past two years, Souderton has had more experience than anyone with overtime, and they appeared to take control again at the start of the first overtime period. After creating some decent chances, the ball finally broke kindly for them with 2 minutes left in the first period of overtime as Doughty slipped a through ball to Katie Pazdziorko who finished the game off with a nice finish in the far corner of the net.

The Indians will be happy with the hard-fought win, but disappointed it took another overtime period to get it.
