Bensalem vs. MaST Charter

Todays game was more then just a game for the Owls, it was our annual Cancer Awareness game. The Owls played for Dave Richardson (Bensalem Deputy Of Public Safety) who is battling pancreatic cancer.

MaST threatened in the 1st when Joran Jennings smacked a 2 out triple but Maggie Formichelli was able to induce a weak pop-up to end the inning.

The top of the Owls lineup did what they have all season long. Megan Klein singled and stole second then Ayva Knowles walked. Klein and Knowles then executed a double steal, and Klein scored on an error by the catcher. Formichelli hit into a fielders choice to score Knowles for a 2-0 lead.

The second inning was smooth for the Owls defense with back to back Strikeouts and Catcher Ashlyn Merz maid a diving to catch a bunt attempt popped up.

The Owls had a huge second inning. Merz lead off with a walk, courtesy runner Delaney Bell stole second and scored on a single by Keira Seidman. Klein then ripped an RBI triple, Knowles followed it up with an RBI double. Back to back singles by Formichelli and Lina Sponheimer put two on for the big blast of the inning when Camryn Pickering blasted a 3-run home-run to right field to bring the score to 9-0.

MaST threatened again with a lead off walk an hit batter but Formichelli dialed in with 2 Ks and a weak pop up to 1st. The Owls closed out the game with RBI doubles by Adrianna Vargas, Klein and Pickering.
