Bensalem vs. Neshaminy

Bensalem Comments
It was a great defensive game by both teams today. The score was knotted at 0 with 2 outs in the 6th inning when Meryn Bellacima hit a 2 run Homerun followed by a Lindsay Gorka hit and scored on an error. RyLeigh Bilbrey hit in the 4th run but was put out trying to advance to 2nd.

Camryn Pickering smoked a double to centerfield in the 7th to try and extend the game but we couldn’t capitalize.

We were one pitch away from keeping the score knotted at 0. Defensively it was the best game I’ve seen us play. Every time a runner threatened we found a way to get out of it. We caught a runner trying to steal in a 1st/3rd situation to end the 1st. Our center fielder Ayva Knowles made a diving catch and doubled a runner off to end the second. In the 3rd our 3rd baseman Destiny Howard caught a popped up bunt and doubled off another runner to end the inning.

Neshaminy defense was just as tough. Left Fielder Rachel Allen robbed a line drive shot to end the 1st. Their catcher Laura Chorba picked off runners in the 2nd and 4th inning. Their pitcher Amanda Slabicki did a really good job keeping us off balance and forcing us to hit her pitches.
