The Owls improved to 5-3 on the season with a 7-4 win over Central Bucks East.

East jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the 3rd inning when Gray walked and scored in a double by Waddington. The Owls had runners on base in every inning and were finally able to break through In the 4th when Meg Klein walked, Ayva Knowles and Maggie Formichelli were able to put the ball in play and force errors to score 2.

East took the lead back by scoring 2 runs on double by Amelia Funston and a
single by Ava Catron. But the Owls took the lead for good in the 6th scoring 5 runs. Megan Klein had an RBI single, Maggie Formichelli followed it up with a 2 run single and a bases loaded error that scored 2.

It took us a little bit to score runners but we knew if we kept putting the ball in play it would break open. We did a really good job of being disciplined and making their pitchers throw today. Megan Klein, Ayva Knowles and Lina Sponheimer each had 2 free bases between walks and hit by pitches. The top 4 in our lineup (Klein, Knowles, Formichelli and Sponheimer) was really efficient today in 19 plate appearances they were they were on base 13 times.

Honestly the game belonged to Maggie Formichelli. She was on base 4/5 times with 3 singles and 3 RBI. And In the circle she pitched a great game, she finished with 12 strikeouts. The crazy thing is not all her pitches were working and she was able to dial in and hit spots with only really 2 pitches hitting consistently.

East is a really good team we scrimmaged them in preseason and they hit the ball so Maggie being able to keep them off the bases was great.

It’s a big cross over win for our team, and I can really see these girls starting to come together if they keep playing like this it’s going to be a real successful season.
