SOL Freedom
William Tennent 3, Lower Moreland 1
It all came down to one game.
The SOL Freedom was neck and neck all season as William Tennent, Lower Moreland and Springfield Twp traded wins against one another to set up one final showdown to decide the division. It was Lower Moreland’s Senior Night, the Lions needing a win over the Panthers to force a three-way split atop the table but Tennent’s seniors have been on a mission this fall and needed a win or draw to take it for themselves.
LM, riding the emotion of the night on a positive note, struck first but Tennent’s seniors had an answer as Bailey Kasner set up Lia Jablonowski for the equalizer in the first half
Kasner would get a goal of her own from the penalty spot late, but only after freshman Lily Walker’s hustle provided the goal that would win the division title for the Panthers.
Both teams will continue play in the postseason next week, William Tennent in Class 4A and Lower Moreland in Class 3A, and will get their seedings this weekend.
Scoring Summary
1st half
LM – Quinn Rozanski (Jordyn Fox) 32:59
WT – Lia Jablonowski (Bailey Kasner)19:14
2nd half
WT – Lily Walker (Kaitlyn D’Ambra) 24:16
WT – Bailey Kasner (PK) 1:22
William Tennent coach Elise Jara: “The girls knew what was at stake going into this game, win and we would win the division. They did not disappoint. I could name every player that stepped onto the field for us tonight as a standout. Lower Moreland scored first but we didn’t panic, the girls stuck to the game plan and within 12 minutes we got the equalizer off of Lia’s foot. The game winner was a goal by freshman Lily Walker as she crashed the net on the initial shot by Kaitlyn D’Ambra. Bailey Kasner sealed the win with a PK under two minutes to go.”
Champions: “Although our work is not done yet, I want to congratulate the team on the division win.”
Lower Moreland coach Todd Hill: “Tough loss against a talented Tennent team tonight on Senior Night. Our girls played such a smart game tonight and made Tennent work really hard. I feel like we had answers to most of the challenges that Tennent gave us and made them have to figure out how to play against us as well. However, it only took momentary breakdowns for them to capitalize, and they did.”
LM’s Goal: “Appropriately, it was senior Jordyn Fox who sent the ball into the box to senior Quinn Rozanski who had a very nice finish to score a goal at 32:59 in the first half.”
Senior salute: “I am so grateful for this senior class! They are an amazing group of young women who I have had the high honor of coaching for the past four years. Katina Pittaoulis is such a technically talented player, Dara Becker has an extremely high soccer IQ, Jordyn Fox has elevated her game and become such an important impact player, Izzy O’Brien is the backbone of our defense and almost never leaves the field, Mariah Gazzara is such an outstanding goalkeeper and keeps us in almost every game, captain Quinn Rozanski has such a vision for the field, is really technical, and is a great leader, captain Agnes Kroll dominates every space she is in on the field and is respected by all, and captain Shannon Mahon is both relentless and infectious in her energy, attitude, and impact on the game. I am a better person, having walked alongside this group of girls for the past 4 years.”
WILLIAM TENNENT 1 2 – 3
LOWER MORELAND 1 0 – 1
New Hope-Solebury 1, Cheltenham 0
An early goal was all the Lions needed to pick up the win on the Panthers’ Senior Night.
New Hope-Solebury’s standout attacker Ceci Capriotti was a focal point of the Cheltenham defense, but her unselfishness was the difference as she willingly gave up a chance to shoot to set up a teammate for the game-winner.
Scoring Summary
1st Half
NHS – Cam Karlovitch (Ceci Capriotti) 6th
2nd Half

New Hope-Solebury coach Chris Shank: “Natalie D’Agostino, Astrid Von Zelowitz, Addy Weisbrot, Hailey Castellanos and Sonia Michael contributed all over the field. Credit to Cheltenham for trying to limit Ceci as she is lightning fast up top, they man marked her but she got free a few times and laid one off for the assist.”
NEW HOPE-SOLEBURY 1 0 – 1
CHELTENHAM 0 0 – 0
SOL Liberty
Upper Dublin 1, Hatboro-Horsham 0
The Cardinals knew the stakes going in.
With a win, the SOL Liberty table would be all theirs. A loss would likely mean the division table they’d sat at the head of for a majority of the fall would go to someone else.
While it looked like a predictable outcome on paper, UD finishing up against the last-place Hatters, games aren’t played on paper. Hatboro-Horsham put up a valiant fight on its home turf, holding the Cardinals scoreless in the first half and nearly halfway through the second 40 minutes as well.
It took a goal from freshman Brooke Smith to make sure a season’s worth of work was rewarded with a hard-earned win and the spoils of a division title.
UD will now await its final seeding in next week’s District 1 Class 4A playoff field while Hatboro-Horsham concludes its season.
Scoring Summary

2nd Half
UD – Brooke Smith ( Kayla McNamara) 58th
Upper Dublin coach Darius Gbunblee: “Great win tonight. Hatboro-Horsham did a great job keeping things compact and making it difficult for us to break them down. We knew that if we continued to move the ball and stay patient, we would eventually find a way through—and we finally did in the second half, thanks to a great goal from freshman Brooke Smith.”
Championship props: “I want to give a huge shout-out to this entire team. After a strong start to the season, we went through a tough stretch, but the girls continued to battle, stay together, and push through. I’m extremely proud of how they responded and finished the season as division champions. Congratulations to the entire team—you earned it.”
UPPER DUBLIN 0 1 – 1
HATBORO-HORSHAM 0 0 – 0
Wissahickon 2, Quakertown 0
Wissahickon finished its season on a tear, winning five straight matches after playing North Penn to a draw back on Oct. 6.
That run has helped catapult the Trojans into the District 1 Class 4A playoff field, a notable accomplishment for a side that’s relied on some younger players in pivotal roles and has navigated some injury woes of late. Wiss’ strong finish also brought the team a second place finish in the division
Lizzy Hussa scored in the first half off a corner
Scoring Summary
1st Half
W – Lizzy Hussa (Gianna Brown)
2nd Half
W – Emily Bennacef (Julia Lentz)
Wissahickon coach Chirs McDaniels: “Quakertown played a fantastic game at their place about a month ago and beat us 4–0. This certainly helped motivate us for today’s game. While it wasn’t our best game moving the ball around the field, we played hard and created a decent amount of chances and managed to put two in the back of the net. Our defense is also coming together nicely and posted a clean sheet. At this point in the season, most teams are dealing with some injuries, we’re no different, and I think we’re handling it well.”
WISSAHICKON 1 1 – 2
QUAKERTOWN 0 0 – 0

Abington 2, Plymouth Whitemarsh 0
The Ghosts won’t see their season extend into the playoffs next week, but they did give their seniors a final win to cap their careers.
Senior Addy Doyle played a role in both goals, assisting the first while scoring the insurance tally. Sophomore Mackenzie Garry tallied the game-winner off Doyle’s helper while it was senior Nora Luskin adding the assist on the second goal.
PW will await its district playoff seeding when the brackets are posted this weekend.
ABINGTON – 2
PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH – 0
SOL Colonial
Central Bucks East 4, Central Bucks West 0
The second meeting between the Patriots and Bucks every year always carries some extra meaning.
While they’re intense rivals between the lines, the two programs always do a fantastic job on their annual Kick For Pink game and this fall was no different. A pregame ceremony honored cancer survivors and there were plenty of goodies available in numerous raffle baskets.
Once the game began, CB East showed it was ready to shake off its first loss of the season even with a couple of key players out with injury. Taylor Roumy wasn’t out, the standout senior scoring for an 11th consecutive game while also assisting a goal by the returning Quinn Reilly.
Rylie Leedy also stepped up for East, recording a goal in each half to pace the likely No. 1 seed in the District 1 Class 4A bracket that will be released this weekend.
Scoring Summary
1st Half
CBE – Rylie Leedy 8th
CBE – Taylor Roumy (Liz Mooney) 18th
2nd Half
CBE – Quinn Reilley (Taylor Roumy) 41st
CBE – Rylie Leedy (Ella Roumy)
CB East coach Jake Nesteruk: “Really proud of the effort and focus put into this one after the loss against Pennridge where we felt a step away from where we want to be. To work through some lineup changes and rotations and keep a really good standard throughout is a testament to how hard this group works and their connections.”
Attacking connections: “Thrilled for Rylie Leedy to bag two in this game, with her second being a real forward’s goal off a great ball in from Ella Roumy. Ella stepped up big time for us today in a different spot than we usually have her. Out on the left, Taylor continues to be a threat and picked a really good goal and an assist to Quinn Reilley to start the second half. This was Quinn’s first game back after some time out with a stress fracture and she looked sharp with her minutes tonight and the header goal she picked up was a really good team moment.
Props: “Out of the back, Cece Hayes, Addie Langlois and Ava Mignon in front of them continue to provide strong leadership and good decision making and I thought Kailyn Adenaike stepped up massively tonight.”
More than the game: “Credit to West for always giving a good effort, good competition and for being a great partner in putting our annual Kick4Pink game together. While the competition is what we are there for, it’s a great reminder that some nights are bigger than just the game, spray paint, pink wigs, and all.”
CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 2 2 – 4
CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 0 0 – 0
North Penn 1, Souderton 1
The postseason’s right over the horizon, but it wasn’t guaranteed for North Penn going into Wednesday’s regular season finale.
While the Knights wanted a win, they knew any kind of result against resurgent Souderton would go a long way to helping them stay on the right side of the cutoff line. North Penn got its goal in the first half of a great strike by Lani Bachmann but had to settle for a draw when Souderton rallied for a late equalizer.
Souderton’s in good standing to host its first round playoff matchup while North Penn will have to hit the road for its opener, but the Knights at least know they’re in a good spot to be there in the first place.
Scoring Summary
1st Half
NP – Lani Bachmann
2nd Half
S – Cailee Cush
North Penn coach Mike Rio: “Overall just a great effort and game. Souderton is really strong and getting a result off them is great for us. Giving up a goal with less than a minute to play was tough, but Souderton definitely worked hard for it and a tie was probably a fair result. We had two shots go off the crossbar from both Bachmanns in the second half, and I was really proud of the defensive effort. We knew we controlled our own destiny going into tonight and needed a result to solidify a playoff spot and I couldn’t be happier with how the girls fought and battled tonight.”
Knights goal: “Lani Bachmann scored about 15 minutes in on a shot from outside the box. She’s been the anchor for us this year and usually she’s responsible for setting up our goals but is always capable of hitting a shot from range if she gets a little space and she did that tonight.”
Props: “I thought Catie Ciotti had a great game in goal, and the back line was solid. Paige Gladfelter has slid to the back for us and has really solidified the line with Jadyn Sperling, Alyssa Chartrand and Allison Schall. I thought our forwards of Annaliese Marnien, Xienna Bachmann and Bailee Charles played a strong game and gave us great effort. Xienna also took on more of a central role tonight in the midfield and was absolutely everywhere, she has such great IQ and awareness and really just was everywhere we needed her offensively or defensively.”
Looking ahead: “It’s an absolute grind through our division, and I can’t say enough about the quality that those other five teams possess and having to see all of them twice is always a challenge. Facing that type of competition hopefully set us up for any tough playoff matchup.”
Souderton coach Melissa Lollar: “I thought tonight was a high energy environment with a playoff feel. Obviously, North Penn really wanted to win this based on where they stood which they showed tonight. I have to give a lot of credit to them for their fight for the entire game. I thought we had a lot of momentum but couldn’t finish in the first half and their goal was a bit against the run of play but was a very good shot that made it hard for Cam Lobel to get a hold of. Cam responded well and had some key saves to keep us in the game.”
Takeaways: “Despite going down, I felt our girls were able to stay patient and kept creating chances in the final third, but we just couldn’t seem to execute. Our midfield did a great job winning the 50/50s tonight, and overall, I think we proved that we can stay in a game when down until the final moment. We are really looking forward to combining all the things we have learned this season and using them to reset for the post season.”
NORTH PENN 1 0 – 1
SOUDERTON 0 1 – 1
Pennridge 1, Central Bucks South 1
CB South stopped Pennridge’s win streak at eight matches, although the Rams remained unbeaten in their last nine. The Titans, who are hanging onto the last spot for a first round home playoff game next week, used a stout defensive effort to head into the postseason with a good result.
Pennridge closes its regular season on Thursday against Springfield (Delco). The Rams, who finished second in the SOL Colonial table, are in a very strong position to secure a top four playoff seed and first round bye.
Scoring Summary
1st Half
CBS – Ali Tait (Khloe Montini)
P – Mikayla Loux (Jaylin Matusek)
2nd Half
No Scoring
CB South coach Dana Cole: “Our defense played outstanding and did not let up for a full 80 minutes. Our four back line players played the entire game and played their hearts out; Addie Kanaka, Avery Rogers, Ella Parish and Olivia Creswick held the back line with pride. Our offense created a lot of opportunities, but unfortunately, we could not finish in the second half although it seemed we had the ball in their defensive zone for most of the half. Pennridge put up a good fight and unfortunately, we couldn’t seal the deal. Sienna Carone started and played the first half in goal and Morgan Sowash played the second half and had some great saves to hold the tie.”
First half: “We let up a goal with 51 seconds left in the first half unfortunately, but we held a lead for a while before that. Our goal was built from the back when Avery Rogers hit Gigi Artman on the outside wing. She put a through ball to Khloe Montini, who took it down to the end line and crossed it over for Ali Tait to finish.”
Takeaways: “Overall, I thought that we had a good energy tonight going into the game and a determination that has been building throughout the season. We are hoping to take this energy into our first playoff game on Tuesday and hoping for a home-field advantage.”
Pennridge coach Lucas Kriner: “First off, credit to South for playing a hard-fought game. They frustrated us: they compressed the space really well and took away some of the corridors we like to play in. Taking our options away resulted in our players looking to solve pressure by dribbling, and South was excellent in their 1v1 duels this evening. Just a tick slow from us in certain key defending moments. We were not seeing the ball well in midfield and we just couldn’t find a good balance of when to get tight and when getting tight was too aggressive. Fouls are probably the biggest indicator of us seeing slowly and reacting late. First and second balls were an issue.”
Lessons to learn: “Overall, we need to take the positives out of games like this. There’s always something to discover about ourselves when things don’t go our way or according to plan, and I think we learned some new nuggets about game demands this time of year from the game tonight. That’s growth.”
Clutch scorer: “Kudos to Mikayla for scoring her goal on the doorstep of halftime. It might have been one of the more consequential goals of the season even though it wasn’t a go-ahead strike. It was very good positioning as the action developed around Jaylin, and it was a composed finish to find the corner off a good prep touch. The goal helped us go level right before half-time. That boost certainly influenced a sense of hitting the reset button on the game in the halftime huddle chat.”
Finding the game: “Later in the game, our combining got better, and we identified some very effective personnel moves. There was a feeling of urgency in the final 10-15 minutes that felt like we had a good chunk of the momentum to find a deciding goal. Options that were previously bottled up started to appear, and from my vantage point we overlooked some moments to connect and build. I think we panicked a little bit on the ball and rushed a few passes because the game had been fast for 65-70 minutes.
Takeaways: “The tie is a weird result for us. The program’s last tie was two years ago, so it’s not a regular occurrence. Happy to take a point in the last league game. Neither winning nor losing helps amplify the lesson that there are lots of useful takeaways from this match. In the big picture we have a lot to be proud of as we round out the final days of the regular season.”

Council Rock South 6, Bensalem 0
The Golden Hawks had picked up a playoff-level win on Monday but had no letdown in their league finale on Wednesday.
CR South wrapped up an unbeaten divisional run, their only result not getting the full three points coming in a draw with Council Rock North in their first meeting, and all but ensured their finish in the top four of the District 1 Class 4A standings. Six different players scored, led by a goal and assist from Maddie Mohr as the Hawks got a chance to use their depth before getting some rest with their likely first round bye.
Bensalem closed out its season by honoring its seniors, a full circle night for first year head coach Kathleen Rivera who has been on staff as an assistant the last three years.
Scoring Summary
1st Half
CRS – Lylah Day (Maddie Mohr)
CRS – Maddie Mohr
CRS – Addison Kinne
CRS – Faya Smith
2nd Half
CRS – Claire Vizza
CRS – Paige Lyall
Council Rock South coach Nick Heim: “We traveled to Bensalem for their Senior Night to close out the regular season. We stressed before the game to not have a letdown after our game on Monday night, and I was pleased with how we answered the challenge. We got on the board early when Maddie Mohr found Lylah Day who had a great finish. A few minutes later Mohr got on the end of a corner kick, volleying one into the top of the net. Addison Kinne was able to pounce on a loose ball and had a tidy finish into the lower corner, and Faya Smith got onto the end of a through ball to make it 4-0 before half. In the second half we extended the lead on Claire Vizza and Paige Lyall goals.”
Plenty of props: “We were able to use our depth nicely tonight and we got some really strong minutes throughout the lineup. I thought Kinne was solid in the midfield for us, and Carly Conetta and Abigail Heimer helped see out the shutout. Sophia Smith and Lorelei Hanratty were dangerous up top for us in generating chances till the end. Vizza was able to add an assist to her goal, and Maddie Hyams and Anna Renshall split the shutout. A solid win to close out the regular season.”
Bensalem coach Kathleen Rivera: “Tonight was our Senior Night and obviously, you always want to win on this special day for the seniors. It was a hard-fought game. We’ve been dealing with a lot of injuries over the last couple of weeks of the season, and girls who haven’t had a lot of minutes before, stepped up when we needed them.”
Saluting the seniors: “I want to give a special thank you to our seniors: Jordyn Bell, Adrianna Posten, Aubrey Quinlan, Rian Brunkel, Sophia McKinney, and Lauren Schneider. Their freshman year was my first year coaching here, so they are the first graduating class I’ve had for all four years. They’re a great group of girls, and this program will miss them tremendously. We wish them nothing but the best, and I know they’ll go on to do amazing things!”
COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 4 2 – 6
BENSALEM 0 0 – 0
Council Rock North 5, Pennsbury 3
A high-scoring finale to league play went in favor of CR North as the Indians built off their big win Monday to head into the playoffs on a bit of a roll.
The Falcons certainly didn’t let CR North get any time to rest on Wednesday, even down four, they played to the final whistle as their season came to a close.
Sam Geib was dealing for Council Rock North, scoring the game’s opening goal before two minutes had passed and adding two assists before the halftime whistle. Sarina Igval also added two goals for the Indians, who should see their name as the home team for next week’s first round of the district playoffs.
Scoring Summary
1st half
CRN – Sam Geib 38:41
CRN – Darcy McCullough (Sam Geib) 36:39
P – Ashley Haubein
CRN – Keagan Terry (Sam Geib) 13:42
CRN – Sarina Igval 5:15
2nd half
38:02 Sarina Igval. Assist Isabel Diaz
P – Ria Pevzner (Qwynn Katz)
P – Jill Patrick
Council Rock North coach Gavin Flannigan: “A really good way for us to finish our regular season tonight. Before the game we talked about building on our momentum from Monday and the girls did an excellent job from the start, creating immediate pressure and a goal within 90 seconds from Sam Geib, who followed up her first shot and scored a rebound. Soon after Sam got free on the right and sent a great cross in for Darcy to head home. Credit to Pennsbury, they came back into the game and scored off a corner kick, but soon after Keagan Terry added a nice goal by lifting the ball over the GK from Sam Geib’s pass. A few minutes before half time we were able to add a fourth through Sarina Igval. We wanted to start quickly again in the second half and we did, Diaz was able to find Sarina for a nice finish. Pennsbury continued to press and create chances, and they were able to add a couple of goals to end the game.
Takeaways: “Overall we were very pleased with our intensity and the way we approached the game. I think individually a number of girls played very well, but Sam Geib stood out the most with two nice assists and a goal. At the start of every season the playoffs are one of the goals, we look forward to next week and to get the chance to compete in the postseason.”
Pennsbury coach Jenna Peters: “Ashley Haubein finished an opportunity in the first half to get us on the board. At halftime, we talked about effort, mindset, and finishing strong by bringing what we’ve worked on in practice into the game. In the second half, the girls fought until the end, with Ria Pevzner finishing a free kick from Qwynn Katz and Jill Patrick adding another goal. The team continued to work together and compete until the final whistle, which is all we can ask for. We will miss our six seniors but are excited to see what’s next for them.”
COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 4 1 – 5
PENNSBURY 1 2 – 3
Neshaminy 7, Harry S Truman 0
Leah and Lily Kaczmarek paced an in-form Neshaminy attack to close out the season.
Neshaminy went 2-0-1 in its final three fixtures to play its way back across the playoff bubble line and should be in the District 1 Class 4A bracket when it is released this weekend.
Truman concludes its season with four wins, its most in a season since 2013, a testament to the team’s players and coaching staff for their work and progress dating back to last year. Senior Dan Gilbert recorded 14 saves in goal for the Tigers.

NESHAMINY 6 1 – 7
HARRY S TRUMAN 0 0 – 0
(Submitted by Harry S Truman soccer)
This was a David vs. Goliath battle with the expected outcome, the Goliath winning handily. But not without a fight. A younger, smaller, and less experienced team, our Truman girls did what was asked of them. They played position. They had their marks. They fought hard until the end. Kudos to the Neshaminy girls. If we marked them one on one, they played the ball past us and used speed and strength to get to the ball. If we dropped back, they dribbled and took advantage of the space. They are a balanced and well-disciplined team. Their starters could have easily put up 11 goals, but they utilized their depth and showed that they can move the ball well. They were able to utilize their reserves and younger players and showed that the road through Neshaminy isn’t getting any easier next year. There was no “good luck” during the post-game handshake. It was “go get ‘em” in the playoffs. We play a gauntlet during divisional play, and last year all four teams from our conference who made the playoffs won playoff games. This year we are rooting for them to make a deeper run
A Tale of Two Cities? One team (Neshaminy) playoff bound with state championship aspirations. The other (Truman), a 4-win team. Decisive 7-0 win for Neshaminy. But to walk away feeling positive and confident says a lot about our Truman girls. The Truman girls continue to make strides to move the program in a positive direction. Truman not only surpassed expectations, but they put together a season with more wins, more goals and a better goal differential than the team has seen in decades. Along with winning a divisional match vs. Bensalem, I’d say that this season was a success.
Tonight was a night our girls wanted to put forth and good effort for their seniors (Azra Biyik, Julianna Aviles, Julianna Romer, Skyla Leiva, Monica Almanza, Lila Giunta and Layla Cruz). Truman fielded all seven seniors for the last six minutes of the game. As the final seconds of the season winded down, the four-win team, about to lose the match 7-0, still carried themselves with pride and positivity. The entire team progressively cheered louder and louder as each of the last 10 seconds of the season ticked off the clock. As time expired, they ran onto the field to hug and celebrate their senior teammates in their final high school soccer moments. Team co-captain Lila Giunta is not only our only 4-year varsity player, but she is our only senior with more than two years of soccer experience at the high school level. She battled back from a season-ending ACL injury just a year ago and played in every game this season. The other six seniors are only in their second year of high school soccer.
Given our numbers and lack of experience, we have definitely surpassed expectations. Truman won a conference match, won 4 total games, and the team’s total goals scored and goal differential margin were all the best that the program has seen in over a decade. Those stats are amazing in themselves, but consider this…soccer isn’t even their primary sport. If you took the best soccer players from other teams and put them into a new sport, I doubt they would fare as well as these girls have on the soccer field. I would challenge any team we faced to put two of their soccer girls up against Julianna Aviles and Azra Biyik in a wrestling match. Anyone on the soccer field wanna go one-on-one with Julianna Romer on the basketball court? Do you have three varsity soccer players that could out bowl and collectively outscore 21st nationally ranked Harley Palencik, Gwen Marston and Dani Gilbert? There is only one girl who may have a better cross-country race time than senior Monica Almanza, and it is our very own freshman, Madison Egan. Point being made, the Truman girls may not have come into the season with the talent or experience that most of their opponents possess in soccer, but their heart, effort and progression are second to none, and if the roles were reversed, I’m not sure there’s another group of girls who stick together and fare as well in secondary sport than these girls.
Many people ask me how our season is going and I always respond favorably. They then ask how many games we won. Win total doesn’t define a season. At practice, I always wear fun soccer socks. Take it or leave it. It’s my reminder that no one can take the fun of the game away from you, and if you’re not having fun, you’re doing it wrong. Yesterday, during our last practice, during a 4-14 season, the entire team came out wearing fun soccer socks, playfully copying me. 4-14. But the girls still came out, working hard and having fun. To me… that is a winning season.
